Ten Auburn Events to Attend This Spring

1. Auburn Airwaves

Auburn Airwaves is Auburn’s annual spring concert put on by the university’s own, UPC. Headlining this year’s concert is Kesha featuring Nelly, with special guest Nick Jonas. The concert will be held on Saturday, April 18 at Toomer’s Corner starting at 5 p.m. This jam packed concert will be free and open to the public for the first time ever, so there’s no excuse to miss it.

2. A-Day Spring Game

A-Day is a huge day because it marks the beginning of a new season of Auburn football. The spring game brings football fans from all over the state trying to get a glimpse of what is to come in the following fall. Tickets to the game are only $5 or free to students and of course, a day full of tailgating is always free. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, with the gates to Jordan-Hare Stadium opening up at 11 a.m.

3. Screen on the Green

Just as that summer air rolls onto the plains, UPC holds their annual Screen on the Green. This year the Hobbit will be showing on April 16 from 8-10 p.m. on the green space at Auburn University. Bring your folding chairs and blankets and meet on the green space for an action-packed night.

4. Graduation

Whether you’re graduating yourself, supporting a friend or family member, or just looking for some extra motivation to make it through college, Auburn’s graduation will surely be a weekend to remember. Spring Ceremonies will take place May 9-10 in the Auburn Arena.

5. Red Barn Series

The Red Barn Series is new to Auburn this spring, but it’s something you don’t want to miss. UPC is bringing in a total of three bands throughout the month of April that will play at Auburn’s Red Barn on Donahue. The two remaining concerts will headline The Eastern Sea on March 17 and Griffin House and Shanna Henderson on March 31, both beginning at 7 p.m.

6. Dive-In Movie

Join UPC for a movie in the pool at their second annual Dive-In Movie. It’s a creative spin on your typical “drive-in”, so grab an inner tube instead of a lawn chair. UPC will be showing Horrible Bosses 2 at Auburn’s Campus Recreation pool at 8 p.m. on April 7, with doors opening at 7:15 p.m., and you don’t want to be late and miss out on the free Kona Ice. Dive-In Movie is exclusive to only Auburn students, but it will surely make a splash.
